Installation offshore wind farm
Offshore wind turbines are huge machines. They can be as high as 200-300 meters. Special ships called wind turbine installation vessels take the different parts of the wind turbines to their location.
Natural gas and hydrogen production offshore
In some places you can see natural gas production platforms while standing on the beach. In future these platforms may be used to produce green hydrogen using renewable energy generated by wind turbines or floating solar parks.
Floating solar
Solar panels can be installed on rooftops and make up solar farms in the countryside. They can also float on water making it a floating solar farm.
Electric ferry
Ferries usually don’t have to sail far. That makes them very suitable for electrification. Electric ferries are more silent, sail smoother and are less polluting than ferries with traditional combustion engines.
Underwater maintenance
Offshore installations are monitored and checked for maintenance. Divers specialised in underwater repairs can be lowered to water depths of max. 50 meters using an open or “wet” diving bell.

HV substation
A high voltage (HV) substation is the place where high voltage electricity – transmitted through high voltage cables – is transformed to a lower voltage so it can be distributed to regional cables and networks and in the end: your neighbourhood.
